✦ Synopsis

The co-current (or batch with finite volume) extraction is solved for the case when an initial concentration profile exists.

Graphical results which cover the range of practical interest are presented. If the existence of a concentration distribution, differing from a constant, is not accounted for, an error up to 64 per cent may be induced on the unextracted fraction.
