✦ Synopsis
Zur Bestimmung der Ameisensgure (Formiat) ist als selektive Methode die Oxydation mit Quecksilber(II)chlorid am besten geeignet. Da die gravimetrische Bestimmung des im Laufe der Reaktion gebildeten Quecksilber(I)ehlorids langwierig ist, wurde eine einfaehe Destillationsmethode zur Bestimmung des im Laufe der Reaktion gebildeten Kohlendioxyds ausgearbeitet. Die Methode ist zur raschen titrimetrisehen Bestimmung des Formiats sowohl in o.i wie auch in o.oi N Massstabe geeignet.
SUMMARY
Formic acid and formates are best determined by selective oxidation with mercury(II) chloride. The gravimetric determination of the mercury(I) chloride formed is tedious, and the authors propose a simple distillation method for determination of the carbon dioxide formed. Rapid titrimetric determination with o.I or o.oi N solutions is possible. R1~SUM~ L'acide formique et les formiates peuvent 6tre dosds par oxydation au moyen de chlorure de mercure(II).
