The Brain Resuscitation Clinical Trial (BRCT I) Group* Resuscitation research trials must have adequate scientific basis, sound ethics, feasibility, and potential impact on health care. The organization and methodology of the Pittsburgh-based Brain Resuscitation Clinical Trials (BRCT 1) are reviewed in detail. This type of international collaborative study will be useful for evaluation of new cardiopulmonary-cerebral resuscitation therapies.
