✦ Synopsis
THIS small volume brings together a number of authors from both this country and the USA who write about a variety of topics chosen by the editor 3 s being topical in the area of vascular surgery. There are nine chapters in all. which include contributions on measurements in vascular surgery, haeniostatic and haemorrheological factors, prosthetic materials in vascular surgery. surgery on branches of the aorta. carotid artery surgery. abdominal aortic aneurysm. reoperation for arterial occlusive disease. limb salvage and the medical management of vascular problems. The book is rather sparsely illustrated and sets out the views of the authors about the various subjects they have been allotted. Each chapter is liberally supplied with appropriate references. which are generally up-to-date.
There are many vascular books being published at the moment. and this one contains very much the material one would expect to see elsewhere, and is rather expensive for its size. Those in vascular surgery who kecp up with the literature will find nothing new in this volume, but for those who d o not, then this book does bring together up-to-date views in selected areas.
