✦ Synopsis
A research project in the northern Negev is reported. The object is to collect and publish, for a 2-year period, daily measurements of soil moisture change and attendant meteorological conditions. Soil moisture is measured daily with neutron probes by 15 cm increments to a depth of 3 m and by 50 cm increments from 3 to 5 m. Two irrigation treatments in alfalfa (lucerne) and two over bare soil provide the treatment variables.
This paper describes location, plot layout, instrumentation, observational techniques, form and content of final report, and availability of complete data in forms suitable for machine processing.
