The bimolecular gas-phase reaction between suprathermal atomic deuterium atoms and jetcooled deuterium iodide, \(\mathrm{D}+\mathrm{DI} \rightarrow \mathrm{D}_{2}+\mathrm{I}\), was used to generate a wide range of rovibrationally excited deuterium molecules, \(D_{2}\). Using \((2+1)\) resonance-enha
The state-to-state cross sections for D t Hz(u= 1, j= 1 )+HD(u'= I, j' =O-13) +H are calculated at the (very high) total energy 1.8 eV both by quasiclassical trajectories and by a well-converged quantum dynamical variational calculation on the most accurate available potential energy surface. We present angle-dependent electron energy spectra due to ionizing collisions of metastable He\*(2 'S) atoms with groundstate hydrogen and deuterium atoms. The data, measured at thermal collision energies (I?,,, = 50 meV), show an angular variation of the spectral shape which is well reproduced by a
