✦ Synopsis

Two new marine carbocyclic oxylipins, clavirin I (1) and II (2), were isolated from the Okinawan soft coral, Clavularia viridis. Their structures containing unique c~-side chains were determined, based on spectroscopic analysis and stereoseleetive total synthesis. Clavirins showed growth-inhibitory activity toward HeLa $3 cells.
