✦ Synopsis

A simple classical model is used to analyze reactive processes in Hl-He collisions at relative energies above a few eV. Detailed structure of the cross section occurs and is a consequence of the superposition of probabilities due to distinct binary collision mechanisms which depend on impact parameter and initial orientation.

The predicted strticture correlates favorably with available experimental data. Comparison is also made with the (quantum) statistical phase space model.
