detail, and synthesis using operational amplifiers is discussed. Some of the basic network theorems and polynomial decomposition techniques which always go with active network synthesis are covered. The merits and demerits of active RC networks with respect to passive RLC networks are discussed at appropriate places.

Several illustrative examples and problems are presented, and ample references are given along with recent developments in the area of study. Some basic concepts, which could be considered as prerequisites are presented in the appendix.

However, classical low-pass approximation techniques are omitted. Filter synthesis is covered in terms of transfer function synthesis techniques.
