Meteorol., 18: 27--35, A study of Class A pan evaporation data at two locations on the Northern Great Plains indicated that evaporation from pans protected from the wind by tree Shelterbelts was about 14% less than that from unprotected pans.

An equation was developed for estimating daily Class A pan evaporation from either protected or unprotected pans.
