✦ Synopsis

The circular dichroism (CD) of MI? ions in aZn(HzO)sSe04. crystal has been measured at 77-300°K. CD lines astc&ted with the spin forbidden transition 6A, -+ ~/I~,~EE) are observed, and corn axed with uniaxial rotational stiensihs calculated on the basis of ligand field theory. The CD bands of Mn*' R and Ni simultaneously dcped into a Zn(H20)&04 crystal have the same sign, which accords with 2 theoretical prediction.
