✦ Synopsis
The smgle crystal az~al CD of three Co(ii1) complekes has been measured between 295 and 9 K. For A-Co (sepulchrate) (NO313 the rotatlonal strength R('Tl(E) -lA1) decreases from =l I X lOdo c.g.s. umts at 295 K to ~0 at 80 K. The main features of the smgle crystal CD spectra can be evplamed by a Stailc couplmg model of optical acflvlty.

## Abstract The circular dichroism of double‐helical nucleic acids was calculated using three different sets of wave functions for the purine and pyrimidine chromophores. Different wave functions give qualitatively the same types of spectra. Quantitatively, the differences are very substantial. How
