Late in 2003 or early 2004, the II-II balanceof-plant and a commercially ready Mosaic Energy stack technology will be returned to the US, allowing for immediate US manufacture and market entry. In the interim, IHI may provide late-stage prototypes for US demonstrations. Mosaic Energy has just shipped two 6.6 kWe stacks to IHI for use in demonstration projects. 'The Mosaic Energy stack technology, combined with IHI's balance-of-plant and market channels in the Pacific Rim, will be afforded a much earlier opportunity for demonstration and commercialization in Japan than in the US,' said Gerry Runte, president of Mosaic Energy. 'To speed up commercialization, and to take advantage of II-II's immediately available customer base, IHI has taken the initiative to integrate the design and manufacture of the stack and the balance-of-plant.'
