✦ Synopsis

Results are given for a method of determination of CI(VI) by amperometry at a solid electrode. By using a fluoride containing electrolyte at a controlled pH and an amalgamated gold electrode, previously reported problems of electrode passivation by C&II) have been overcome. The method gives reproducible results and can be used for monitoring Cr(VI) with a detection limit of 0.9 x 10m9 mol cmm3 at the 95% confidence level.

The reduction of ferricyanide ion at nickel, stainless steel and platinum rotating disc electrodes has been studied in KOH and K&O, supporting electrolytes. The effects of time, cathode material and supporting electrolyte were investigated. It was concluded that the limiting current supported by fer
