Abstract
Chromatic dispersion effect on a bandpass microwave photonic filter is presented using a tunable linearly chirped fiber Bragg grating (LCFBG). The 3‐dB bandwidth of the LCFBG is shifted nonlinearly with fixed centre wavelength to change its chromatic dispersion value. The bandpass notch filter is free from optically coherent interference and phase noise because of the two orthogonal axes of the Hi‐Bi fiber. Measured results agree with theoretical analysis. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 49: 2131–2133, 2007; Published online in Wiley InterScience (www.interscience.wiley.com).
