In total, the value of colorants specified by OEMs in North America quadrupled between 1994 and 2004. OEM-specified colorants represented about 10% of the total colour concentrates market last year. The ratio is expected to increase in the years to come. Also, there is a trend towards shorter lists of approved suppliers.
