✦ Synopsis
In clinical practice, chorea is usually associated with the use of neuroleptic drugs, L-Dopa intoxication, or Huntington's disease (l), but a wide variety of neurologic disorders may show choreic symptoms (2).
Cases of paraneoplastic encephalitis are very rare and typically are associated with lung cancer. O n the basis of clinicopathologic syndromes, two forms are defined: "limbic encephalitis" with profound mental changes resembling herpes encephalitis, and "bulbar encephalitis" with profound brain-stem symptoms (3-5).
