## Abstract Cholera toxin irreversibly activates a 43‐kDa guanosine triphosphate (GTP)‐binding protein by adenosine diphosphate ribosylation, resulting in activation of adenylate cyclase and increased intracellular levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Because increases in intracellular
