✦ Synopsis
The effect of the addition of various amounts of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) on the thermal properties of polyurethane was investigated. A significant improvement in thermal stability was observed on addition of 3 wt% of CPE. It has been found that specific interaction between homopolymers occurs at the phase boundaries, so strengthening the urethane linkage and retarding its dissociation.
