✦ Synopsis

The effect of the addition of various amounts of chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) on the thermal properties of polyurethane was investigated. A significant improvement in thermal stability was observed on addition of 3 wt% of CPE. It has been found that specific interaction between homopolymers occurs at the phase boundaries, so strengthening the urethane linkage and retarding its dissociation.

This paper investigates the viability of using high density polyethylene (HDPE) as a modifier for asphalt paving materials. Different ratios of HDPE by weight of asphalt were blended with 80/100 paving grade asphalt. Unmodified and modified asphalt binders were subjected to physicochemical and homog
