✦ Synopsis
The Cu^I^ atom in the title complex, [CuCl(C~12~H~8~N~2~)~2~]·6H~2~O, exists in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry defined by one Cl atom and four N atoms of two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands. In the crystal structure, molecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by O—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions. Four water molecules lie on crystallographic twofold rotation axes.
