Enantiomers of t-butylphenylphosphinothioic acid were found to be useful chiral solvating agents (CSAs) for 1H-NMR determination of enantiomeric excess (ee) of many classes of chiral organic compounds, such as alcohols, diols, thiols, mercaptoalcohols, amines, amlnoalcohols, hydroxyacids and related compounds.
