China Chemical Reporter, 26 Jul 2006, 17 (21), 17-18 Importers' share of Japanese carbon black market pushed back Japanese production of carbon black was 405,859 tonnes in 1H 2006, about 1% higher than the equivalent period of last year. Shipments were 2.7% higher, at 407,178 tonnes. Imports, which had increased by nearly 50% in 2004 and remained at a historically high level in 2005, have abated somewhat so far this year.
