β¦ Synopsis
ZnO-Doped BaTiO3: Microstructure and Electrical Properties.
-The effects of ZnO additions on the microstructure and the electrical properties of BaTiO3 ceramics are studied using solid ZnO or Zn stearate as dopants. Ceramics containing 0.1 wt.% ZnO derived from Zn stearate exhibit a homogeneous fine-grained microstructure but a lower density than ceramics doped with solid ZnO due to the burnout of the organic component. Doping with 0.5 wt.% solid ZnO reduces the sintering temp. of BaTiO3 by β100 β’ C. Permittivity values close to 3000 and dielectric losses below 1% are measured for ZnO doped materials. -(CABALLERO, A.
