X-Ray Single Crystal Structure Refinements of the Isotypic LnMnSi 2 (Ln: La, Nd) and PrMnCu 0.5 Ge 1.5 Compounds.
-A single crystal of the PrMnCu 0.5 Ge 1.5 compound has been extracted from an ingot of corresponding starting composition, melted in an induction furnace. Single crystals of LnMnSi 2 are obtained in a mixture NdMn 2 Si 2 /In or LaMn 1.5 Si 2 /In by annealing for 1 week at 1273 K. All three compounds crystallize in the new generic LaMnSi 2 -type structure (previously denoted as TbFeSi 2 -type). The crystal system is orthorhombic, space group Cmcm. -(NORLIDAH,
