1999 structure structure (solids and liquids) D 2000 33 -009 X-Ray Crystallographic Study and Thermogravimetric Analysis of Tetrammine-Carbonatocobalt(III) Nitrate Hemihydrate, [Co(NH 3 ) 4 CO 3 ] NO 3 •0.5H 2 O. -The title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1 /n with Z = 8 as determined by single crystal XRD. The structure contains two crystallographically independent Co(NH 3 ) 4 CO 3 coordination octahedra in which the CO 3 groups act as bidentate ligands. TGA results show that [Co(NH 3 ) 4 CO 3 ] NO 3 •0.5H 2 O completely decomposes to Co 3 O 4 at 430 • C. -(CHRISTENSEN, A.
