Powder samples of K2Ln2(BO3)2O (Ln: La, Nd, Sm, Eu) are prepared by solid state reaction of K2CO3, Ln2O3, and H3BO3 (Pt crucible, 840-900 ยฐC, 48 h). Single crystals of K2La2(BO3)2O are obtained by spontaneous crystallization from a melt of K2CO3, La2O3, H3BO3, and KF as a flux at 1050 ยฐC. K2La2(BO3)
