-The title reactions give the α-adducts as the sole products [mechanism]. This process can be applied for a new vitamin E synthesis. The α-product (IX) from the chiral allene (VIII) is obtained with high degree of selectivity and can be easily transformed into a product known in the vitamin E synthesis.
