โœฆ Synopsis

Two-Directional, Convergent Synthesis of a Pentasaccharide That is Involved in the Hyperacute Rejection Response in Xenotransplantation from Pig to Man.

-The methyl glycoside of a pentasaccharide which serves as the binding site for human anti-pig antibiotics is prepared by the condensation of four building blocks without a single protecting group manipulation. The methodology of using differences in reactivity between hydroxyl groups of a glycosyl donor and an acceptor is expected to be an important tool for the assembly of other complex oligosaccharides. -(ZHU,
