(Trimethylstannyl)vinyl Cuprates: Generation and Conjugate Addition Reactions.

-The conjugate addition of (trimethylstannyl)vinyl cuprates (obtained in situ) with α,β-unsaturated ketones and keto esters is investigated. The transfer of the alkyl or phenyl group to the enone is suppressed by the use of bis((trimethylstannyl)vinyl) cuprate affording exclusively the desired (V). Similarly, the competing reduction in the case of α,β-unsaturated keto esters (VI) is avoided by the use of BSA as novel activating agent leading exclusively to the desired (VII). -(
