Transition Metal-Catalyzed Cyclization of 2-Allylphenol to 2,3-Dihydro-2-methylbenzofuran Without β-Elimination. -The intramolecular nucleophilic addition of 2-allylphenols is efficiently promoted by a new RuCl 3 •nH 2 O/AgOTf-PPh 3 -Cu (O-Tf) 2 catalyst system to furnish methylbenzofurans [cf.
