✦ Synopsis

Titanium(IV) Chloride Induced Reactions of Ketones and C-Acylimines with Dimethylcyanamide.

-The product distribution in the reactions of ketones (I) and (V) with dimethylcyanamide (II) is strongly influenced by the methyl group at the phenyl ring. Acylimines (VIII) give the monoadducts (IX), exclusively. In the case of the isopropyl derivative (X) a multistep cyclization is observed.
