โฆ Synopsis
Thiourea Dioxide Promoted Efficient Organocatalytic One-Pot Synthesis of a Library of Novel Heterocyclic Compounds. -Thiourea dioxide is applied as catalyst under solvent-free conditions for the library synthesis of heterocyclic compounds such as the functionalized coumarins (III) and (V), the highly functionalized piperidines (VIII) and (IX), and the dipyrromethanes (XII). Compared to thiourea, the use of thiourea dioxide results in better product yields. This catalyst is insoluble in various organic solvents and can be separated by extraction and further employed several times with consistent catalytic activity. Additionally features of this procedure are the easy synthesis, mild reaction conditions, clean reaction profiles, and the environmentally friend-
