Abstract

The synthesis of brominated indoles such as (II) is shown to proceed only in the presence of the bulky P(tBu)~3~ ligand; other ligands such as PPh~3~, SPhos, JohnPhos, BINAP, PCy~3~, dppf, P(o‐Tol)~3~, or xantphos give only trace amounts of indole products (<5%).
