✦ Synopsis

The Generation of α-Trimethylsiloxy-o-quinodimethanes Induced by One-Electron Reduction to o-Acylbenzyltributylstannanes. o-Quinodimethane intermediates, generated from (I) or (VI) are trapped with dienophiles (II) to give the corresponding cycloadducts. The isolation of the open-chain adduct (XII) indicates that the addition of the initially formed αtrimethylsilyloxy radical to (XI) proceeds faster than the transformation to the o-quinodimethane intermediate. -(
