The First Silatriafulvene Derivative: Generation, Unusually Low Reactivity Toward Alcohols, and Isomerization to Silacyclobutadiene.
-Reaction of the cyclopropenone (I) with the silyl Li compound (II) leads to formation of the silatriafulvene (III). It is trapped with ( IV) and (VI) to yield the cyclic Si derivatives (V) and (VII), respectively. Thermolysis of (VII) in the presence of (IV) affords (V), whereas thermolysis in the presence of tBuOH gives the ring compounds (IX) and (X), apparently via isomerization of intermediately formed ( III) to the silacyclobutadiene (XI). -(SAKAMOTO,
