Templated Synthesis of Vanadium Borophosphate Cluster Anions. -Hydrothermal reactions of V 2 O 3 , H 3 BO 3 , and H 3 PO 4 result in the formation of the new building unit [(VO) 2 BP 2 O 10 ] 3-consisting of a V 2 O 8 dimer and a BP 2 O 10 trimer. Four, five, or six such building units are connected to large rings, which can be centered by a cation [cf. (VI), (VII)], where the size of the cation controls the size of the cluster ring. The structures of all products are determined by single crystal XRD: (Ia,c): monoclinic, space group P2 1 /c;
