✦ Synopsis
Temperature and Light Induced Bistability in a Co 3 [Os(CN) 6 ] 2 •6H 2 O Prussian Blue Analogue. -The photomagnetic title compound is prepared from a 2:3 mixture of (PPN) 3 [Os(CN) 6 ] and Co(NO 3 ) 2 in a H 2 O/MeOH mixture (10 C, 12 h, 77% yield). The compound is characterized by powder XRD, IR and UV/VIS/NIR diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Co 3 [Os(CN) 6 ] 2 •6H 2 O exhibits a face centered cubic structure and crystallizes in the space group Fm3m. It shows a wide variety of properties including charge transfer induced spin transition, temperature induced excited spin state trapping, and magnetic ordering.
