✦ Synopsis

Synthesis, Reactions and Antimicrobial Studies of α-Aryl-N-(2nitrocyclohexyl)nitrones.

-Condensation of aryl aldehydes with cyclohexylhydroxylamine (II) provides the title nitrones (IV) (10 examples) which yield unexpectedly the corresponding benzaldoximes (V) upon hydrolysis. The obtained nitrones show moderate to good antimicrobial activities.
