## Abstract __S__‐Alkylisothiouronium salt as a nontoxic, odorless and simply operational alternative of thiol was reacted with different kinds of epoxides in basic aqueous medium at room temperature affording the __β__‐hydroxy sulfides with high regioselectivity in excellent yields.
