Synthesis of Substituted 2-Amino-5-nitro-4H-pyran-3-carbonitriles.

-The reaction of Ξ±-nitroketone (I) with benzylidenemalononitriles (II) catalyzed by Et 3 N represents the first example of a synthesis of nitropyrans (III) from Ξ±-nitroketones.
