Synthesis of Optically Active 1,2,3-Substituted-1,4,5,6-tetrahydro-7H-indolones.

-Indolones such as (III) and (XI) are obtained in a one-pot synthesis from conjugated nitroolefins and Ξ±-ketoenamines. In most cases the indolones are obtained as the main products. Exceptionally, the bicyclo compounds (VI) and (XII) as well as oxazine N-oxide derivative (IX) are isolated in some cases.
