Synthesis of Lactosyl Phosphate Diester Derivatives of Nucleosides.

-The title diester together with the corresponding thiophosphate diester of 1-(ฮฒ-D-arabinofuranosyl)cytosine (Ara-C) and 9-(ฮฒ-D-arabinofuranosyl)adenosine (Ara-A) are synthesized via H-phosphonate or phosphoramidite methodology. One compound in the Ara-A series shows a higher affinity to liver cells than Ara-C derivatives.
