✦ Synopsis

Synthesis of Hydroazafullerene C59HN, the Parent Hydroheterofullerene.

-Exchange of one C-atom in C60 with nitrogen produces the azafullerene radical which is isolated as its dimer. Irradiation of this dimer in the presence of tributyltin hydride yields the title heterofullerene which is characterized by electronic, vibrational and 13C NMR spectroscopy.
