Synthesis of Heterocyclic Compounds from the Amination Products of 3-( 4-Phenylbenzoyl)acrylic Acid.

-Addition of amine (II) to title compounds (I) proceeds via 1,2-addition to the α,β-unsaturated ketone fragment rather than 1,4-addition to the α,β-unsaturated acid moiety giving derivatives (III).
