β¦ Synopsis
Synthesis of Benzoyl and Dodecanoyl Derivatives from Protected
Carbohydrates under Focused Microwave Irradiation.
-Carbohydrates with either one secondary, one primary, or two secondary hydroxyl groups are studied in the phase transfer catalyzed transesterification in basic medium with aromatic or fatty acid esters (II). Small amounts of DMF are necessary to provide good yields within 15 to 30 minutes. Specific activation by microwaves when compared to conventional heating in the same conditions is largely evidenced and is more important when the dodecanoyl group is involved.
