Synthesis of Benzo[c][2,7]naphthyridines and 2,13-Diazabenzo[b]chrysene. -An improved procedure for the synthesis of 5-bromo-3-[(N-arylamino)methyl]pyridines (III), potential precursors for the preparation of benzo[c][2,7]naphthyridines, based on the reductive alkylation of anilines with bromonicotinaldehyde (I) is developed.
