โฆ Synopsis
Synthesis of a Key Intermediate for the Synthesis of Pyranocoumarins. Contrasting Reactivity in the 1,2-and 1,4-Reduction of an Unsaturated Carbonyl System.
-A new and simple four step procedure for the preparation of pyrancarbaldehyde (VI), a potential key intermediate in the synthesis of pyranocoumarins, starting from commercially available butopyronoxyl (I) is reported.
The selectivity of reducing agents towards (I) in THF or hexane is studied preliminarily. -
