-Direct glycosidation of N6-benzoyl adenine (II) with the protected thiosugar (I) and subsequent deprotection of the resulting 4-thioxylonucleoside (III) gives the title compound (IV) with better overall yield and shorter synthetic pathway than methods previously reported. -
