Synthesis of 6-Substituted-3-hydroxy-4(1H)-pyridinones: Oxidation-Michael Addition of 3-Hydroxy-4(1H)-pyridinones. -The oxidation of pyridinones of type (I) with Ag 2 O involving alcohols (II) is reported for the first time.
