Synthesis of 6-Hydroxy-L-daunosamine and L-Daunosamine Derivatives.

-In connection with the synthesis program and the interest in biologically active anthracyclines title compounds such as (XI) and ( XII) are synthesized in 13 steps and 12% overall yield. Starting from tri-O-acyl-D-glucal a second approach to these interesting compounds over 15 steps and 5.2% overall yield is also developed. -(
